I have not been able to find "Fill & sand" by Elmers, I think thats what its called, that most here mention. This is as close as I have come.
 
Do you mean "Fill 'n Finish"? It comes in a container that looks something like this. I found mine at Lowes, our Home Depot didn't have any at the time.
 
Skeet, you'll find that the stuff you have will work just fine. :)
 
I use this to fill smaller surface imperfections before painting (as an example, filling the weave in fiberglass cloth). I dilute it down with a little water to make a mixture that is just thin enough to paint with. Then, it can be applied with a brush or a roller (a foam roller is the best way). Don't sand to hard though. If you generate heat when sanding this stuff, it hardens up and becomes almost impossible to sand.
 
"fill & finish" yea thats what I was meaning. Thanks for the photo. I have not seen that anywhere local but will have a look at the Loews or HD next time in the big city.

And I'll give this stuff a try also.
