Estes Star Orbiter liftoff.JPG
Mine is slightly different. I only used one of the BT-60 tubes and cut the decal up to spell out Rat Bite, just to be funny. Funny part was that I wasn't the only one who did it.

Estes Star Orbiter - BT60 body 3-fin rocket with 29mm motor mount.

I have upgraded the rubber shock cord to Aerotech elastic and use a Top Flight nylon chute.

1st flight: E16-6 with onboard cam, 1120' @ 355kmh
2nd flight: E16-6 with onboard cam, 1190' @ 360kmh
3rd flight: F15-8 with onboard cam, 1500' @ 375kmh
4th flight: G74-9 with onboard cam, 2180' @ 900kmh

The G74 flight went surprisingly perfect, and the rocket held together at 900kmh (560mph).

My currently active Star Orbiter, on a pad at NSL in Alamogordo, NM in May 27, 2017.

Just as an aside, the man in the hat to the right is Tom Beach, editor of the NAR’s Sport Rocketry magazine.6E8659D6-CC24-45C4-8DE1-532758C40AE9.jpeg

Just painted this yesterday and kinda feel like it’s too cool looking to fly. 🤦‍♂️ Trying to decide on flay or satin clear.

Done RC Planes and helicopter my whole like but newer to rockets and the idea you don’t have control
After launch always worries me lol.

That looks great! But, it’s gotta fly.

Do your best and enjoy the suspense. 50 years in and I’m still on edge when it’s time to push the button. Bring a trash bag just in case.

Welcome to the fun, and keep the pics coming!

No joke, this is one of if not the best color schemes I've seen on a rocket. I absolutely love it. I hope you don't mind if I try it myself someday!

Wow thanks man! Of course not! I used a Saab Goblin Heli as inspiration.

Yeah she will fly! I recently tested an RC controlled chute deployment system which makes me feel better about flying in the small field I have access to.
