Build and launch video of 1/72nd DFR Technologies Delta III Deep Impact mission.
Started with DFR Technologies / Carl Campbell Delta III kit and then deviated from instructions by throwing away the printed wraps in favor of paint and adding additional 3 dimensional detail. The provided printed wraps would have made the build go much quicker. Decals were based on the first flight: Galaxy 10 mission.
The real first flight resulted in a fireball. The launch of this scale model resulted in a fireball too (forward end blew out).
