Looks good at first, but putting a AAA battery in series with a string of AA batteries is really not a good idea. The internal resistance pf a AAA battery is higher so the series current capability is lower, and the capacity of a AAA battery in applications where you need AA battery performace will be disappointing. The AH capacity of a AAA battery is only 1/7 th that of an AA battery. The lifetime of the package will be very short.

Depends on how you use it, I suppose. If you're thinking of remote arming of avionics, then you use this as your avionics power and provide a second energy source (LiPo) for firing circuits. You might also be able to drop a lithium based AAA in this, which will get you as much total power as an alkaline AA at the AAA lithiums 1A max continuous draw rate (~1.2-1.3Ah; the AA will more than double that at lower draw rates).
