This is the official location of the NEW TRF Best Rocket Competition. This is a monthly event to show off your "stuff" and find out who has THE BEST ROCKET OF THE MONTH! When entering, make sure you follow the criteria listed below and you will do fine. From the 21st until the end of the month will be polling to see who should win in their class.

This months competition is: SAUCERS/PYRAMIDS/TETRAHEDRONS/SPOOLS/ETC.

1. Header of picture MUST include, name, what kit or was it custom, class you are entered (ie: LPR, MPR, HPR, Unique)
2. A BRIEF discription of rocket details. Anything that would make it apparent to somebody that yours is THE BEST.
3. Only ONE entry per month.
4. No side chats are allowed in the official thread. You may give brief compliments.
5. Rockets made at any period of time may be used.
6. Can only have a rocket in competition ONE time.
7. If there is a monthly specified type of contest (such as red, white and blue themed), you can only enter rockets that are applicable.
8. Entries will be taken first 3 weeks of month and after the 21st of everymonth the contest closes.
9. The last week of the month will be polling on who should win in each class.
10. Winners get bragging rights for a month!

Good luck to you all... AND HAVE FUN!

I vote for Jim's Frik-'n-Frak before anything gets posted. That thing is just toot sweet. :D

I'll put in my 40" saucer that I designed and built to fly my 17 second burn N800 motor. This was the first flight where I set the chutes to deploy at apogee. The motor was still burning as the saucer arced over and the chutes deployed through the flame.

Funny you picked saucers LOL:
Our club has a Night Launch scheduled for Sept.
so I wanted a new staged model for the event and this months contest ties in perfectly so it'll be my entry:)
John McCoy, LPR:
Modified Estes Snitches, 2-stages D12-0/C6-0 and illuminated with 54 various color and function LEDS, S-Flux and UV LEDs. All powered by 3volt 20mm lithium coin cells. If nothing else it was a really fun conversion both for D12 24mm motor power and adding all the leds:)

Well, I'm going to submit my "Kalamazoo Arch" flown at NARAM 49 :D

It's a modification of the UFFO kit (modified to accept 24mm motors as well as a doubling of the number of fins (6 instead of 3)). The final modification was the attachment of twelve 48 foot multi colored streamers to give a rainbow effect patterned after the "St. Louis Arch" event common at some NARAM's.

OH, and thanx for the Frick-n-Frack mention :) Another great one!

I like your intensity, but we don't vote yet. Only after the 21st and until the 1st of the next month.

I think this is the last competition I am doing, we just aren't getting enough people to do it...I mean its not like you guys don't have rockets:surprised:

I will continue doing it, only if people really want me to continue it.

PLEASE DON'T SHUT IT DOWN!!!!! We just need a broder spectrum to enter like Dueces. ;););)

Does this comp. include other oddrocs? I've got an early Chinese style MMX rocket on the bench right now, and I'd enter the contest with that.

Ok. I'll try to get the thing finished up and maybe get in a flight and check if it's stable. Not sure if I can get it to fly though, my launch controller is completely screwed, had to throw it away.

Yes, anything that isn't a "normal" rocket.

Ahh .... I was waiting for the "Furriest Rocket" competition, but ....

I'd like to submit the "Big Daddy Akavish" by Roger and Bracha Smith in the HPR class.

The rocket is about 40" tall and spans about the same distance. It weighs about 10 pounds. We built it from scratch. We've flown it on a I154J motor and on an I284 motor.
