CMASS will be holding the first of three scheduled ARC launches at the School Street Field in Acton on 09 March. The intention of these events is to give local ARC teams the opportunity to make practice and qualifying launches with the required NAR oversight for the qualifying flights.
If your team is interested in attending, please let us know through this forum thread or by contacting any of the club officers so we know who will be joining us. Also, let us know when during the time window you plan on being there.
We will set up and be ready to fly by 11 AM and we'll want to leave the field at 3 PM at the latest. Always be sure to allow enough time before 3 PM to accomplish all you want to do. If you are running late or can't make it as you planned, please contact us so we know how to plan our time on the field.
This is not a regular club launch; those begin on 20 April in Amesbury. Club members and non-members are encouraged to come and help out with the range set up and running the launch. NAR members are especially welcome. The teams will need to be checked in prior to any practice or qualifying launch attempt, witnesses will be needed to time the duration of the flights and teams will need to have their qualifying attempt verified post-flight.
While these launches are primarily for ARC teams, if you help out and there is some down time at the pads, the volunteers may be allowed to put up a few of their own rockets. The other ARC launches will be held on 23 March and 06 April. If you can help, please post here to confirm.
