Analog Scanner + Yagi to Track 900mHz GPS Tx (RF Gurus?)

Just purchased a GPSFlight telemetry system here at the YardSale and have it working well under some preliminary and fairly attenuated testing with my PC and Google Earth.

Think it might be kinda neat to capture and audibly recognize the digital Tx signal via clicks or modem grunts as a secondary locator with my analog scanner as well.

From what I've read, this thing freq. hops (8+ channels) somewhere in the 902.??? to 930.??? neighborhood with 300kHz spacing.

Unfortunately, I'm at the very early stages of self education regarding RF and...it seems everybody and their uncle is transmitting on the 900mHz band here in the great metropolis of Waupaca.

The 900 band is busy as hell on the "Signal Stalker" function of my scanner so I'm still unable to capture what my Tx "sounds like".

Any input on this or did I pick a bad day to stop ingesting hallucinogens?
