The Fruit Fly from Hot Rod is a little bitty thing reminiscent of the Estes Mosquito but with an important different. I've actually flown AND recovered it. I have never seen a Mosquito after the launch button was pushed.
When I built mine, I tried to stay with the "insect" theme. I gave it a metallic copper paint job with a metallic purple/blue on the nose cone. I was trying for some of the vibrant colors I see in the insect world. I also used nylon thread to make "veins" along the fins.
I was less that successful in achieving the look I wanted but it has performed OK.
