    Lets See those Staged Micros!

    OK then:
We have a Booster motor in the MMX-II-NE. ture the .857second delay before burn thru is a bit of a heart stopper but GUY's they really do work quite well!
As soon at Bill released these little jewels I ordered a gross, got them in opened and RED Magic marked the entire casings as they look just like standard MMX-II motors.

I have 4- staged micros, a T2+ downscale Hercules, T2+ extended Warp-II that I night fly with 1" cylume glo-sticks. a light weight 10.5mm two stage testing model and a recently built T3-T4 downscale Midget 2-stage. OH man are these things quick. I've already lost the lower stage to the Warp-II and took over an hour to find the lower stage of the Hercules. Teflon Streamer/wadding has helped saved the sustainers on just about all flights.

I highly recommend Very Bright colors for any and all booster stages. They tend to settle down in the grass making recovery difficult if flying alone or if you take your eyes off the touch down spot.

Painted it florescent orange and promptly lost the sustainer
at NEFAR's Bunnell Blast 2009. Need to build another soon.

Roger has a couple of pics (a feat by itself!) of the flight in his

Finally Got around to finishing the paint and decals on my T3-T4 Micro Midget 2-Stage. Flew it before it was painted...Wow liftoffs are VERY Quick! clean staging but the first flight had a bit of a tip off issue. I'm hoping reducing the LL dia a tad will fix that problem.

Next Up a Beta 2-Stage in the same scale.

Are there any modifications that need to be made to a Micromaxx NE motor for use a a booster stage or can you run them as is?

    ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Use them exactly as you would a -0 booster motor. I even Magic Markered my stash RED for easy ID in the motor box.
Just bear in mind the .857second average delay can be a heart stopper on draggy or heavier designs. Keep your models Light and streamlined for the best results. Gap staging also works well

I appreciate the info and the tips.

I was wondering if drilling away some of the delay charge would be helpful on the heavier 2-stage models? I might try that in the near future.

To do so you are violating the safety code and voiding your NAR insurance. Don't do it. the ejection charge has been remove post manufacture by Quest. having it certified in that configuration, if it had be an easy or safe fix to try drilling out the delay they'd have done it. Let not screw up the good others have done for us
