thats what I was told several weeks ago...
I also was told that a women took his old position....

Bob, Shockie,

How about a little retrospective on Mr. Brown.

What did he do for the hobby?

well what I know about Ed Brown is very little. I guess I'll have to give him a call and get the scoop. anyway, what I do know, is that he was the person in charge of keeping MAbel(s) running over the past 35-40 years; He's a world known expert in BP model rocket motors.. Every BP motor that EStes has offered since 1971 ED has probably had a hand in the design and testing before it became a product.

Ed is one of the finest individuals I have ever known in the business, and was a mentor to me in the late '70s. He encouraged me to apply for DOT classifications for the original Composite Dynamics motors, helped with materials & designs and even hosted some static test sessions in Penrose (this was long before the current administration). He built the composite 'G' motors that were flown at NARAM-14 (including in a Cineroc-carrying A-20 Demon shredded by Vern Estes), and I have one of his composite 'F' motors in my collection.
