Ouch - that must have hit HARD. I had an initiator come down with no chute (separated, but the chute came off) and it was just fine after a 1600 foot fall.

Forgot to say i cut the tube of ready for another one i have that i will glue on soon

Dude,

You posted a 900k image INLINE on a forum message. Now that is just unfriendly, hehe.

COURTESY TIP: Posting an image inline? Keep it's size under 50k. Bigger images, post a link so people can decide themselves to see it.

Look out for your fellow rocketeers with slow internet connections, ok?

Image properties: size 91810 bytes

sounds like 90k to me (not 900)

Oh well i fixed it up now just clickon the link if you want to see it next time ill puta thumbnail lol.

Is anybody else going to show off there damaged rockets?

i would but i already repaired (my rubicon)

Well...I don't have a pic of the damaged rocket, but here is a shot from Plaster Blaster 2003. This was a level 3 cert flight that went terribly wrong... The motor adapter let loose and the motor flew through the Polecat Aerospace 10" V2!

Hey! Just stumpled across the one that I was looking for when I posted the last one.

Again at PB 2003, this was the post mortem from one of the 20' Tomahawks (a few of which can still be seen on the pads in the background...)

This is a classic case of "trash-bag" recovery. Amazing how the only piece bigger than my fist was the bent up hybrid casing...

That happened on my L2 attempt..

Everyone then told me the mistake i was making with my L3 only putting in a 76mm motor mount.. LOL didn't care wan't gonna have that happen again especially with an M motor like that....

OMG that guy on the right of that photo didnt even notice what had happened 100meter from him LOL

If you look really close, there are two little (in this rez of the photo) dots just to the right of the impact cloud...that was the guy whose rocket it was and his buddy...WAAAAAAY inside the "safe" distance perimeter. That dude needed fresh shorts after the M motor hit no more that 15-20 ft. from him....

Rebuilt, I dont just let my rockets die. I rebuilt My Amraam 3 about 10 times until it finally lawn darted. But I still have the fins so it may get rebuilt into something else!

Here is the Endeavor now on the mend.

This one "lawn Darted from an "extreme" altitude at NARAM 47.

She spit the motor at ejection, I guess the motor hook wasn't properly "hooked".

But...she still flys just fine...not pretty...but she flys!
