I followed the eqns for vent holes on a 1" diameter, 9" bay. Using three holes we drilled 5/64" but they seem way, way too tiny, even when we added a hole and made them bigger. Any experience with small extreme altitude rockets and vent holes?

Well, I have a rocket and when I went to vent the alt bay, I used three 1/16" holes I believe for a 2"x9"ish bay. If I understand you correctly, you have drilled 3 5/64" holes? well, that should be enough I would think.

I flew a 38mm rocket with one 3/16" hole and one 1/4" hole so I could use that 1/4 hole for my twisted wires to stick out just a bit while taped to the side of the vent hole ring.

on an Ellis I-134 , it went to 6742 on a 48 degree december day in Michigan.

that ebay was only about 5" long, perfect flite WAWD.
