You're absolutely dead on about the motor. It's a bit of a trick getting it in and out. But will it look like the real deal? That IS a ping pong ball beside it btw.

Calling something an odd rocket is sort of like calling something pornography -
it's difficult to define precisely, but you know it when you see it.

Here are a few pictures of my odd roc fleet. The first photo shows the ones that have flown at least once, the 2nd photo is the build queue. Some of the rockets in the first photo were kits, like the Fliskits Decaffeinator and UFFO, the Art Applewhite designs, the Estes Star Wars rockets, and the Loc Cool Spool. The others were scratch builds. I do have some 3FNC rockets too, but for some reason I have a lot more fun with odd rocs.

p.s. Just a suggestion, if you want to keep harmony in your house, don't set your dirty old odd rockets on your wife's nice, clean, white tabelcloth. :-)

    Pile-O-Punkins oddroc

I guess this Pile-O-Punkins rocket I just finished fits in the oddroc category. I was planning to fly it today at our monthly launch but the weather is really bad this weekend. We've re-scheduled for next weekend which is actually closer to Halloween anyways.

Easy test: An Odd Roc has no socially redeeming value or appeals to the prurient interests as judged by community rocketry standards. Flying anything but a sleek 3 or 4FNC on the biggest motor possible is tantamount to Rocketry Porn and is therefore subject to the strictest RSO scrutiny possible. Thus endeth today’s lesson.

OBTW aren't goonies by their existance ODD-Rocs? I only have the one so I can't really judge....
Goonies have such as large following now they are considered a separate and recognized rocketry religion as opposed to s smaller cult or sect of the Odd Roc universe.

Hee hee. Well, I was just making a weak attempt at
humor, I wasn't trying to imply that 3FNC rockets are porn.
Where I fly (AZ) they launch all sorts of rockets up to L3,
and my kids and I get a big kick out of watching that. I also have
an L1 project slowly taking shape in my garage (a normal 3FNC
kit from Loc). But, as the forum description says, I also like
to bring out something a little ... different ... now and then
at our launches, just to add a little wackiness to the mix.
This probably says something about me too, I guess.

Must read test carefully ... the BUT is key to the joke. You have to be thick skinned to be an Oddrocketeer!
