As to "where to start", take it from someone who has so many projects, I was overwhelmed. So, in December, I finally decided for the new year, I was going to work on one project till completion, then move on to the next one.
I finally got the Nike Hercules drawings done, and am very close to finishing up a special Font for the markings and master decal sheet for resizing to proper scale.
Once thats done, I will continue work on my Guillow's 1/77th scale Shuttle - which will lead to scratchbuilding a set of matching SRB's and ET. Yes, I'd "love" to have the shuttle radio controlled - akin to George Gassaway's masterpiece, but since I can't afford that type of electronics, and know very little about it, I'll be happy if she recovers via a triple set of chutes. 8)
After that is done, I'm gonna work on a Nike-Sandhawk scratchbuilt from the plans that I helped rediscover from Sandia Corportation last winter. These will be all be done this year. Period.
So essentially, pick a project/kit and just work on it. As you focus on one, you can apply skills you have, and refresh old ones you might be fuzzy on. Then as you progress, you can slowly work your way up to a new skill.
By far, the most rewarding part for me has been my being identified on line as someone whos known for my scale modelling/scale rocketry abilities. No, I don't consider myself the best, but am very comfortable saying I'm a scale freak whom loves..nay adores anything scale.. 8)
Heres my site on Scale Rocketry. Click on Scale designs for drawings I've made available, and on Projects for some of the work I've done in the last year or so.
