Hello,

SCRA (NAR Section 430) will once again staff a booth and provide slave labor for a free Model Rocket Make-It & Take-It at the annual AMA Convention. The convention runs January 7, 8, 9, 2005 and is being held once again at the Ontario CA Convention Center. Last year the crowd was about 50% larger than previous years in Pasadena. (This show was formerly known as the IMS until the AMA bought it).

Feel free to bring a few dozen club members or scouts to build free rockets. AMA worked with Quest to provide the free models and I think we're using Starhawks again this year.

There will be Model Rocket categories in the static model competition with CASH PRIZES. Last year the cash prizes were $300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place and $100 for 3rd place in each category - hopefully they will be the same. See flyer for details:

Even though there are no Model Rocket companies signed up as exhibitors at this point in time there are a lot of other manufacturers and retailers of interest to rocketry folks who will be there. It's a great place to load up on adhesives, wood (LOTS of wood), composite airframe building materials, batteries, tools, radio equipment, etc. In the past they even had an electroluminescent flat panel light company which would be of interest to anyone doing night launching.

It's THIS week. Don't miss out on cash prizes. There will probably not be many entires, so ANYONE could walk away with one of the 6 prizes!

Say hello if you stop by the SCRA booth.
