On tuesday my mom has to go into the hospital to have some test done. I forget what the test is called. so anyway, I am going to be just sitting around for a wicked long time. she cannot eat for a day and a half beforehand, and she had to go to the store so I could eat on tuesday. definetly not fun for her to buy food she cannot eat. Now to the other point: I will be sitting around here alone while she is at the hospital, so I need a form of entertainment. I can go play tennis against the wall at the tennis court, and she will be giving me a buck or two to ride my bike over and get a doughnut, but that will only keep me busy for a hour or two. can anyone reccomend interesting rocketry-related websites, or something like that cause I am going to be wicked bored for a good 24 hours. well, 12 hours. sleeping does not really count as boredom. so what would you guys reccomend I do? I guess I could also explore TRF for a while, and beg my mom to give me $10 to go buy some black and white paint for my V2, but that will only take a little while. maybe I can dig through the archive of TRF. any suggestions?

Woh, way too much information dude... :D For your mom's sake, you may want to edit your post. :)

Go for the paint. And do both. Paint awhile, surf TRF while it is drying.

Yep, you are proabably right. Yeah definetly right. I will go for the paint, if it is not raining. can't paint very well when it is raining. Looks like it will be pretty nice weather for that day, though, so painting and TRF surfing while it is drying. still does not sound very exiting, but hey, if I have rocket work to do, it cannot be horrible, can it? well, if the "rocket work" was repairing a CATO or something it would be pretty bad, but still it is better than just sitting around watching afternoon tv with no cable.;) do you know if temperature affects paint? it finnaly hit 28 F. today, so it could be just as brisk tomorrow. I wonder if I could talk my mom into letting me ride my bike over with a coupla rockets and flying them at a soccer field sometim.... thatd be fun. Now I just gotta find the TRF archives....

WOW, that should last him a week!!!!!!

(I may have to explore those sites myself)

I don't know dude, give me a computer and I can keep busy all day. Or a big pile of rocket stuff ;)

BTW, IMHO scsager's response should be put somewhere and made 'sticky'

One more thing....I should have first said that I hope your Mom does OK. Think a day at home is boring, just think of how she's feeling. You should plan to do something nice/special for her. :(

How very right you are......

yeah, you are right. she is already whining about not being able to eat, and she still has a day do go. ouch. by the way, just a few weeks ago she had to take a freind to do the same thing. she jokes that her freind did not tell her it was contagious! yeah,a s soon as the test and all that is over, I am pretty sure we will be having a very large feast for dinner.;) she says she is sure it will be fine (well, she is my mom, and I guess she does not want me to be worried), and that it is not what the doctor says thinks it could be and the real problem is close to harmless. she almost skipped the test, but she is doing it anyway just to be sure. I am pretty sure it will be fine. not eating for a day and a half, though. ugh. yesterday she "ate anything she wanted any time she wanted". that means tons of calories and piging out, and she also went out to dinner with my dad. it does not look like it will be enough to keep her from getting hungry. oh well. just something she has to do, as she says. She will be fine. She is more worried about me staying home all day than the test. what a good mom.

I can't wait to check out those links! about half of them I have been to, another 1/4th I had heard of and never figured out how to get to them, and the rest are entirely new to me! thanks. that one post proabably took a good 1/2 hour to make;) pretty good list! I can't wait to look at the extreme rocketry page! they gotta make one of those smileys with blast-goggles instead of sunglasses!

there wasnt a ton there but the site was made with a mac....Doug site is a great place to surf

When I am bored I:

1. Made bottle rockets (the alcohal ones)
2. make rockets out of pens for micromax motors
3. Make little rockets for A motors that can be destroyed
4. Make homemade rocket motors
5. make water rockets
6. Fire my potato gun.

there are more things but I am sure that is enough bad influence for now:D :D :D

My mom will not let me make a potato gun.:kill: I really want to, I have seen one with hairspray propellant and they are wicket cool to shoot at the "pole yard", a field that is not big enough for a rocket, and is fenced off. it used to ba primeo source for telephone polls, but now it is just a place to shoot potoato guns and the like. My TRF mail is going to my mom again, so I gotta go un-subsrcribe from all the threads so she does not get mad when they fill her in-box. can anyone reading this before 7:10 eastern time reply now, just to test it? thanks.

HECK NO!!!! NOT HAIRSPRAY!!! PROPANE!!!! :kill:

Propane makes a h-e-l-l of a loud noise, and if there is enough spark when you fire it at night, you get a AWESOME blue flame belching out of that thing! Drool!

Jason

Umm, is that how they make blue thunder?;) I really hope you are joking, that is almost as bad as that rocket-mortar thing on EMRR. i bet the police loved that one! sounds like a very good way to keep busy, though. trying to talk your way out of jail! Fun if it were legal, tough! blue flame BELCHING out of the tube.... I thought the hairspray was cool... I wonder if it was anything like that CMASS cato.... the cato lasted for several seconds, though. it had a huge continuous fireball spouting out of the BT! coolest cato I have ever seen, with the possible exeption of that fireball that shot out of the "glamdring" that same day:cool: again, I stress the need for a blast-goggle smiely. There was also a pretty good one where an estes D12-0 spat out its propellant in cherryfield 2 labor days ago. same as the glamdring cato. both pretty good, with no damage to the rockets, a definete +! I will post my pic of it tomorrow. it shows the fireball shooting out from the tube (actually 10'-20' away from it at that time) and the rocket arcing out from the path. it is the best cato pic I have ever seen, if I do say so my self. well, maybe that NARAM D12-3 cato was close, but not that close. I gotta go take my bath now  I gotta get the rest of that "Burnt BP stench" from a day or two ago off of me. ugh.

By the way, I prefer to call it "fragrence of APCP". , much nicer than my mom's version. she even got the propellant mixed up. I recall saying earlier that she cannot tell the difference between the two propellants, and there is proof. at least she cannot tell by the smell!;)
