Finally got around to finishing the micor Ranger downscale.
Micro.. Heah! its BT-20.. feels like working with an oil drum after building with the 7 -10mm tubing:) The Ranger has such a nice big payload section I couldn't help but load it up with a 12mm 3v lithium cell holder and 5 leds in the hollowed out balsa nose. A brass custom made blade switch in the bottom of the tube coupler make turning it on and off a snap.
Launched her last weekend at the clubs annual night launch from my relay pad with 34gage bare nichrome wire igniteres to an altitude of about 25 or 30 feet due to weathercocking by a 12 mph breeze. Very pretty flight ..which I missed with my slow digital camera... all I got was a black window with a bit of smoke trail:( Ewt for this little piggy is 28.5grams, LOwt w/ 4 MM-II motors was 33.2grams. recovery by 9" estes plastic chute. Look its a Big little rocket:D
