I see that the G-force is designed to separate in the middle instead of
blowing the nosecone off the body to release the parachute. I'm guessing
that it is that way because the ejection charge does not contain enough
expanding gas to fill the big body tube and still have enough "umph" to blow
the nosecone off. I'm contemplating extending the small diameter gas tube up
into the forward body tube and than adding another bulkhead at the top of
the extended gas tube to trap the gas in the upper part of the rocket so the
nosecone will blow off like a conventional design.
Any thoughts????

Airforce, is there a particular reason you want it to have NC separation rather than mid body?

Aerotech kits are quite nice. Even the guys that normally bash kits usually end up building these just as they are.

Just curious, that's all. :)

I would tend to keep the separation point in the middle. Now I'm curious, does it use 'zipperproof' construction? If not, that might be a logical, easy modification.

Darian, Rocket Warehouse for $88 or something like that. This place only charges $6 flat shipping weight. No additional charge for oversize or anything like that. I actually ordered 2, 1 for a friend and it was still $6.

Jase, This question was from my friend. I think he just wanted it to be like he stated, like all the others. :) I think I'll ask him.

rstaff, Not sure about the zipper question, I haven't opened mine yet. Could you explain your zipperproof mod.

Thanks Dick, that was clear enough. I'll send it on to my buddy.
