Hi Matt, welcome to the forum.

It is not likely that anyone on this forum is going to answer your question. We're not intending to be mean, we just want to be safe.

Making rocket propellant and building rocket motors is not something to be approached lightly. Anyone who is really serious about learning how to do this will go to a class on the subject. Yes, there are classes on how to mix propellants and build motors. (At least, there are here in the USA)

Perhaps someone here on the forum can direct you to sources of classes in New Zealand.

Matt,

Welcome to our forum.

Read some of the threads and see just where we are in relationship to "Experimental Rocketry". That is just what mixing zinc and sulfer is...Experimental Rocketry.

This forum is for Low Power, Mid Power and High Power rocketry that uses either premade and factory loaded single use motors or a reloadable motor system (RMS) that use factory made fuel grains.

We concentrate more on building the rockets and leave the motor stuff to someone more qualified.

Try to get ahold of matt_taylor another member of this forum from NZ. He seems to know what he is doing.
