I just built this tiny little "only-wing" (how do you call them correctly?) glider (wingspan 240 mm, weight 1.7 g) as a prototype for a larger one I'm gonna use at an S8D competition.

(The coin is one of the new Euros)

I may fly the little one on a MicroMaxx-Motor.

Your tiny flying wing is interesting. What's it made out of? Looks like balsa sticks and paper???

I like your idea of flying it on a micro-maxx motor. I bet I could fly one like that in the great room of my house. I bet that would tick off even my extremely tolerant and understanding wife if I started flying rocket boosted gliders in the house..... but I bet it would be a kick.

For a future project, I want to convert a Zagi flying wing (very popular electric powered radio controlled flying wings here in the U.S. - see www.zagi.com) to be rocket boosted.

I had great success doing a similar project with a Multiplex Pico Combat Jet, which is very nearly a flying wing as it has a very short fuselage on it. It flies great on an AT 29mm RMS with an F40.

Yeah, flying wing is what I was looking for.

It is made from 2.5 mm balsa (both the profiles and the spars), and the wing is made from plain ol' paper. You could probably save about half of the weight by using thinner balsa and paper.

I've heard of designs like the Zagi and the MPX Combat Jet, but I wanted to do my own design on this plane, and I had overheard there are several difficulties in constructing them. I found, there aren't. So I will be off building my flying wing pretty soon. Will be powered by 2 C6-3, since we don't have any full 20 Ns D motors over here (and the Aerotechs aren't allowed).

But, I don't think you could actually fly it in the house, except for if you trimmed it to fly small circles. Launched from 1 meter above the ground it will probably glide 10 to 15 meters far... And using a MM motor to lift it (1.7 g is pretty light even for an MM rocket) will give you one heck of a flight.
