I think I have the wrong 29mm Aero-Pac. I ordered the 29mm Quick-Change Motor Retainer. I had no idea there was a choice for paper or phenolic. They sent me phenolic, but I'm using a paper body tube! Am I good or am I gonna have to send it back? The retainer seems to be a hair too big for the body tube, but I can fix that. I just want to make sure I'm not screwed...

you should have a small gap betweent he motor tube and the retainer... this is where the JB Weld goes. If it's a bit tight.. just sand it a bit.. if it's real loose... Your gonna have to make your own judgement call there... Phonelic tube is paper, it is a little thicker then the kraft paper tube's..

There is a difference between the outside diameters of heat welded paper and Kraft phenolic tubing. -I know this to be true because I am the one who manufactured the first prototypes for a good friend of mine who made the mistake of trusting the pirate who owns Giant Leap.- But to answer your question; As long as you can fit the forward side of the retainer onto the aft end of the motor mount, you should be OK. Just make sure that it's not pushed so far forward that there isn't enough room between the end of the closure and the snap ring. I recommend that you dry fit it first, with the motor casing and aft closure installed in the motor mount. Then scribe a line on the outside of the motor mount, so that you'll know where the forward end of the retainer should be when the adhesive has been applied.

Well, I completed installing it and it is beautiful. I checked it once, and checked it twice, gonna find out who's.... Ooops, now that song is gonna be running around my head. Anyway, here are some pics:

Some have suggested sanding, priming and painting the JB Weld. But you know what? I think it looks so cool, I wouldn't think of covering it with anything else. Call me kookie....

Thanks everyone for help with the motor mount and retention system.
