Reduction of BT Size

Is there any magic formula for determining how to reduce the body size of rocket tubes...for example.....BT80 reduced to BT50. I know there is something in Stine's Handbook of Model Rocketry...but you have to be a mathematician to figure it out.
Any ideas? Possibly someone has a template?

Haha... I do not understand the original question. I just use ratios to adjust to various body tube sizes when I measure pictures of prototype.

I think he was asking about the formulas for creating paper shroud templates. With template generators (e.g. Payload Bay) readily available online these days, the question is moot.

That said, I did derive the math on my own to make my own template generator.
