I thought I was pretty familiar with OpenRocket, but I've decided that .. maybe not. How do I use the split fin button in the fin
design window? Attached, is an OR file that has a fin that I simply would like to turn into a split fin (with a 3/8 to 1/2" gap in the middle).

How would I do this?

(Yes, I did do a search and didn't find anything.)

The "split fin" button changes a fin set (ie 3 identical fins) into separate fins which can be modified & positioned independently. This is not really what you are looking for. Instead, create two fin sets one for the forward fin and one for the aft fin.
