Which would you guys trust for supersonic speeds? I've been looking into making a MD rocket that is simmed to break Mach 2 on a J motor, and I'm getting a difference of around .3 mach for max speed and around 5000 ft. in altitude between the two programs. I've heard a lot of people use Open Rocket but nothing really for Rocksim.

In my experience, OR should be fine in this speed range. Of course, much depends on the actual weight and surface finish of the rocket.

I have not verified the performance at Mach 2, but Rocksim was spot on to 0.01 Mach at Mach 1.3.

I think the team that won the Carmack prize said that OR modeled their flight the best.
