I'm curious about the makeup of the members of TRF...

So, which camp are you in? The Pre-Walked-On-The-Moon camp, or the Post camp? Perhaps you're one of the people who disbelieve that Neal (and Co.) made it there, and it was all filmed inside a studio somewhere (I've included an option for you too).

(FYI, I squeeked in the Pre camp, but only just barely).

I remember when Sputnik was launched and I remember standing out in the backyard with my Dad to watch Echo pass overhead.
I watched all of the Mercury and Gemini launches which always occurred in the early morning hours on the west coast.
We always got up when ever the TV coverage started and watched until the very end.
Of course I remember that hot July day that we watched the first moon walk.
I also worked other hams through the satellites Oscar 6 and Oscar 7 when I first got my ham ticket.

Unfortunately I missed the first set of moon landings by about 20 years. Hoping to catch the next round though.

One year before Sputnik. Launched my first Estes rocket in 1962.

I was in Viet Nam. Listen to the landing on a hand radio.

Did I miss anything?
:horse:

Uh....You might have missed the 2014-59 angle. So yes! I might have been around when Vern was having sleepless nights thinking how to get MABLE to function properly.

I was born five years before Challenger made CATOs uncool....
I apologize for my uncouth humor.

Born after, but I remember Apollo-Soyuz, the re-entry of Skylab, watching Columbia launch for the first time, and I know exactly what I was doing when I heard about Challenger.

When I was born, the Nazis were still launching V-2 missiles into Great Britain. Next, we hired Wernher von Braun.

The next trip will be setting up a base to go to mars. Mining operations, H2O accumulation, etc. Living in a balloon basically.
At least that is what History Channel says what is in the works.

Yep, but we already knew you were old...old enough to remember when dinosaurs walked the Earth.

Need me to pick up some more Geritol for you, old man? ;)

Oh Man!

You may have heard of jalopies,
You heard the noise they make,
Let me introduce you to my Rocket '88.
Yes it's great, just won't wait,
Everybody likes my Rocket '88.
Gals will ride in style,
Movin' all along.

V-8 motor and this modern design,
My convertible top and the gals don't mind
Sportin' with me, ridin' all around town for joy.
Blow your horn, Rocket, blow your horn

Step in my Rocket and-don't be late,
We're pullin' out about a half-past-eight.
Goin' on the corner and havin' some fun,
Takin' my Rocket on a long, hot run.
Ooh, goin' out,
Oozin' and cruisin' and havin' fun

Now that you've ridden in my Rocket '88,
I'll be around every night about eight.
You know it's great, don't be late,
Everybody likes my Rocket '88.
Gals will ride in style,
Movin' all along.
