I doubt it's a secret, I contemplating a 38mm powered BT-80 based rocket.

With that in mind, I'm curious what the outer diameter of a classic Slimline 38mm motor retainer is. I'm thinking that this would be applied to the motor tube, and glued into the back of the boat tail flush with the back of the rocket.

The boat tail would be made from one of the TLP-26L nosecones, and the joint would be done with JB weld (both motor tube to retainer, and retainer to boat tail.

While we're at it, how about the 29mm, and 54mm retainers as well.

Thanks!
Jim

if the above link is not what you are looking for and you are talking about the GLR slimline retainers, then I have all 3 in my parts bin.

O/D
29mm = 1.43
38mm = 1.816
54mm = 2.466

If you need more dimensions just let me know.

Thanks all!

I added the metric equivalents to the figures given...

O/D
29mm = 1.43" (36.322mm)
38mm = 1.816" (46.1264mm)
54mm = 2.466" (62.6364mm)

When I get home tonight, I'll have to look and see if I want to expand the hole in the boat tail, or perhaps, just use tape for a friction fit.
