People still fell for this hoax even though this guy, probably just in search of YouTube hits which he has achieved (2,432,239), tried it with a 5S back in January of this year and got the results anyone with a brain would have expected:

Then there's this guy, but I think he was just nervous/excited:

There are also videos going around about the "RFID chip in new money" so the govt can track you. If you just "cook" the bills in a microwave for a few minutes, it will destroy the chips. Of course it will! The bills catch on fire and burn, thereby destroying any chance they can be tracked!

As a side note, my brother has ADHD, and gets easily bored. While sitting at stop lights, be began removing the security threads from bills (you crease it at the thread and work it back and forth, eventually the paper delaminates and you can pull it out). I found this out when I discovered a wad of "fuzz" in his car's ashtray, and he confessed his new "hobby".

iOS8 also makes your phone shock proof, so you can pound on it with a sledgehammer, and it won't even get a scratch!

iPhone 6 vs M82A1. Nice shot.

Jeez, you guys are reminding me of an old joke.

Two ditch-diggers are out working in the blazing sun one summer afternoon. The supervisor is lying in a hammock between two shady trees at the top of the hill, sipping lemonade.

One of the diggers asks, "How come we have to be down here in the hot sun, doin' all this work, when the supervisor gets to lay up there with his lemonade in the shade?"

The other replies, "I don't know. Why don't you go ask him?"

So the first digger walks up the hill and asks. The supervisor replies, "Because I have intelligence. Let me show you." He puts his hand against the trunk of one of the big trees, then tells the laborer, "Take your shovel and try to hit my hand."

The digger swings, hits the trunk, and gets rattled all over his body as the supervisor pulls his hand away. The supervisor says, "See? I have intelligence. Now, get back to work."

The digger returns to his colleague, who asks, "What did he say?"

The first digger says, "He says he don't have to work 'cause he has intelligence."

The second digger asks, "What do you mean?"

The first digger, now feeling a bit more intelligent himself, responds, "Let me show you!" He looks around and realizes there is no tree in the ditch, so he puts his hand on his forehead and says, "Take your shovel and try to hit my hand!"

An oldie but a goodie that sums up the iPhone mindset

I've had a iPhone5 since it was released and would never buy another.

Love it! Spot on accurate...

I love these same type cartoons explaining the space program as well... "I want to re-do Apollo" is particularly funny...

Spot on accurate too...

Geez, people are SO stupid... they'll fall for ANY hype if it's shouted loudly enough and often enough...

Later! OL JR :)

Referring to the IQ bell curve, George Carlin said, "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that." And that's exactly why human endeavours are typically carried out in less than ideal (SLS, ISS, F-35, etc.) fashion. Of course, much of the problem is also related to the complexities of modern life, many issues requiring extensive, specialized knowledge to reach the proper conclusions and choices. People instead rely on "experts" and "trusted agents" to guide them, many of whom have their own biases and/or ulterior motives.

The fact that the educational system doesn't adequately teach the learned skill of critical thought is also a huge contributor, many people only learning that process by accident if they take a science class of some kind, but too many find science topics "too hard," that being the case I suspect because they find the critical thought process itself to be "too hard." Sad.

I took Critical Thought, but then I started getting beaten up because I criticized everyone's thoughts.

The newest thing on the new iPhone.

Next thing you know, someone will try to tell us that you can charge an iPhone with magnetic fields. Hey, wait a minute...

Meanwhile, here's the new Apple iTime smart watch - or perhaps not...

I decided to Google to find a course and found one that's on-line and free:

https://www.saylor.org/courses/phil102/

Note that it's linked to on-line material in Hong Kong. I guess we've exported all of our critical thought to China, too. That is apparent when I read the headlines, iPhones in microwaves being one small example.
