I always liked the 50s style. Visionary, although often, impractical. I wonder if his idea would have flown and returned safely? Neat idea though. With today's technology and yesterday's design, some of these would be cool to simulate.

Launching rockets (or missiles in my case) is so easy a chimp could do it. Read a step, do a step, eat a banana.

I have always had a plan in the back of my mind to to the upper stage of the original Von Braun Ferry Rocket as an RC rocket glider. Likely a custom fiberglass cone with sheeted foam or balsa wings. The vertical tails will likely need some significant upsizing. Either 24mm or 29mm motor mount.

The Nazi Stability Nazis would have never OKd' that for Launch.
They'de bitch about Overbuilding, Nose Weight and Performance.

There was an article in SpRocketry, if memory serves, about converting that plastic model for flight.

A single stage R/C boost glider version would be sweet...
