I have a MARSA54L that I managed to brick in the process of trying to upgrade the firmware. After contacting John for assistance, I realized (and told him) that it was likely my fault.

The first attempt was for me to follow some instructions he sent, which didn't do the trick. So, it needed a trip home.

I asked John what I owed him (I wanted to include payment with the unit), but he wouldn't accept anything. Not even to cover postage to send it back to me!

Today, I got it back, flashed with the latest firmware. On top of it, John was kind enough to put some really nice ferrules on the battery leads that were connected to the unit when I shipped it to him.

Really awesome service - Thanks, John!

Kevin, John convinced me on the merits of using ferrules on all electrical connections to the altimeters a while back. They make very solid and reliable connections.
I am a believer! ;)

I also just bought a Marsa 54L...
After much deliberating I found it to be spec for spec the best bang for the buck in it's class...
After I received it, I went through the set up process before mounting it on the sled...
That includes a few mayo jar flights and downloads of the flights....
I am super impressed with the unit...
It is extremely easy to navigate through all of the options...
And I am super impressed with John Derimiggio,,,,
Customer service second to none ( except me,, lol..)...
Answers to questions are within hours,, sometimes minutes...

My greatest recommendation for this product...

I got one recently. As said the best bang for the buck. I can not think of anything else I would want out of an altimeter. John is fantastic. He was able to come up with a work around when the software would not load on my desk top. Still don't know why it would load on my laptop and not my desktop but it works LOL!
Thanks John!!!

It even halved the lengths of the ellipses you use! Wow!

(haha) Show it to me on Saturday.

Do you really want to see the Marsa Carlo.....
It's on the 4" sled I'm building...
Not what I'm bringing...
If your serious I'll bring it...

Teddy

John and the MARSA altimeters are amazing...another plus vote! For the price, nothing comes close to the features AND ease of use. Love that on-board LCD.

EASE OF USE..................

I am not a fan of changing programming on the field...
I'd rather do that in the quite focus of my office....

In the Marsa instructions it says that the Marsa's flight options and everything else you can set in the
programming on the on board LCD is so easy to use it's going to ruin you for all other altimeters.........

I read that and said,,,,,,,,,,, aaaawwww phooey.........

Guess what....
I was blown away,,,
It's so easy to navigate through the options
5 or 10 minutes after you start,,, your comfortable with it......
It even says right in the instructions,,,
Just start poking around in the programming / settings,,,
you'll be comfortable with it in no time.....

I couldn't believe how correct this was.....

I'm seriously impressed with this altimeter.....

Now I just have to fly it.....
