Ole! :D Of course we have room for you! Come on in John....;)

Let it be known * #7 * has bowed out of the competition for the second time...
That puts Gary "Rocdoc" Katawhatever (just kidding Gary) in his spot as a replacement and, John Olevich rounding out the current field in the #11 spot.

Ohhhhh..... i feel a presence in *THE FORCE*...

I see that the one known as "The Thunder" has registered for the event...

Can it be long before he throws his name in too?

Come play with us Roger...we can play together for forever and, ever and, ever...

So do you have a who's who of who's in the Sparkie race.

Why of course Gary...

1. Jenny "Fire down below!" Gross.
2. Gustav "How the hell do you pronounce your name?" Piepenburg.
3. Steve "That's funny, little man..." Pauling.
4. Jason "I like to wear Red Speedo's!" Griffin.
5. Eric "I've got you all covered!" Cayemberg.
6. Preston "Your STILL getting a ticket..." Nobile.
7. Gary "Check out my tan...Man!" Katawaba.
8. Tim "Trust me, it's only money." Dixon.
9. David "Still haven't ate those Onion Rings you talked about...Gus." Reese.
10. Jim "Mouth of the South." Hendrickson.
11. Jim "So i told that ***hole out of New Jersey to **** off." Olevich.

On the fence:confused:

12. Roger "I'm NEVER staying in this Motel again!" Jezler.
13. Tim "Knew i shouldn't have trusted that fart." Lehr.
14. Claude "Plotting and, scheming till the end." Paquin.
15. John "Ahhh....what the heck!" Clifton.

It's a very eclectic field for sure...

Gus, did I do something wrong to get booted from the field? I know I was in it before.

"We now have the following add on's to the listing and, thank-you for your participation!

7. Jim "The Underboss" Scarpine.
8. Tim "Big Bucks" Dixon.

I believe rules are 3" Sparky in 4" airframe; my guess is if your aren't flying 3" motor you don't qualify(?).

Rules as in post 1."*Maximum Motor Dia. will be 75mm or 76mm to compete"

Says nothing about requiring a 3"motor.

I am, there will be 2 of us at RSO. I'm sure I can take a break to fly. I mean we ain't THAT busy. If we are I will find a fillin for a bit.

BINGO!

Jim and, i talked last night about this and, i reiterated that i wanted 4" Rockets with 3" Motors going for the prize. Anything else is just along for the ride. Now, Jim wants to fly a 4" Rocket with 54mm motor and, that's alright as long as we have the pad space....which it looks like we will.
Soooo....once again here is the latest list of Competitors including our "along for the ride friend" Mr. Jim Scarpine.

1. Jenny "I promise too never drink alcohol on the night before a 95 degree day...summer launch...:puke:" Gross.
2. Gustav "What do you mean the fire extinguishers are empty?" Piepenburg.
3. Steve "It's not the voltage that kills you, it's the amperage that does...Now hold these two wires! :D" Pauling.
4. Jason "Yup! I'm only wearing Speedo's and, work boots under my insulated coveralls...kind of liberating i might add!" Griffin.
5. Eric "You've already lost this one by even showing up...I told you i had you all covered! ;)" Cayemberg.
6. Preston "Get out from under the porch or i'm going to let the dogs chew on you..." Nobile.
7. Gary "Spray tan? No that's natural! Why do you ask?" Katawaba.
8. Tim "Trust me, it's only *your* money! Dixon.
9. David "I'm coming out...on a plane...from Kali-for-nia...to see my friends again! :w: Reese.
10. Jim "Let me tell you about the time i was escorted to the state line of South Carolina...after what i did in that bar! :bangbang:" Hendrickson.
11. Jim "I need to bring some of those *special* railbuttons to the launch, my good friend Gus will have a pocket full of money!" Olevich.
12. Jim "I want my spot back or i'm going to bust your knees..." Scarpine.

On the fence and, not too be counted out:

13. Roger "What do you mean i'm funny? Funny in what way? Do i make you laugh....huh?!" Jezler.
14. Tim "What was that Gus said he wanted me to do for him last week:confused:" Lehr.
15. Claude "If i bring a 4" diameter 40" long conical nosecone with a motor in it....does that qualify? :p" Paquin.
16. John "If a Spool has a center diameter of 4" and, 6" diameter endplates....can i fly that?" Clifton.
17. Sather "Are one fin rockets allowed to fly too? :cyclops:" Ranum.
18. Manny "Dude! You stole the thunder from my Drag Race...Not fair man!" Ballestero.

At 3pm on Saturday the thunder rolls.....How much you want to bet someone will get their car alarm inadvertently activated in the parking lot?:lol:

Wow... I just crunched some numbers on this... assuming 15 people are in the drag race, all flying baby M's...

A baby M has about 6000 N*Sec of impulse. 15 people flying means that 90,000 NSec of impulse is flying simultaneously. That is a baby Q motor. Now, for cost. A baby M... call it $220. 15 people doing this simultaneously... about 3K up in smoke. Now, considering an average L3 rocket is about $2000 on the pad... about $30,000 of ROCKET will be flying through the air at really freaking fast speeds (except for Scarpine... his will barely get off the ground.... you know how he likes his sparkies... low and slow... :p)

A small M motor looks to have about 8 pounds of propellant. That is 120 pounds of titanium sponge propellant... burning simultaneously.

I'm *Sporting Wood* already!:D

No...I mean the "Genuine Simulated Wood Grain" Trophy that's been sitting on my kitchen table for a week now.

Get your minds out of the gutter...

Made my own M sparky.....about $75-80.....check.......made another M sparky for Hot Tub......$75-80.......check

Might have to make another one to get to that $220 mark!

You need to come out here one year and see what MWP is all about!

It was until the clearcoat blistered the paint. First time I've had that happen. It will still fly. I stopped before doing the booster, mach will peal the pinstripes off without the clearcoat.

I'd stick a K or L Sparky in it and, just join us for the debauchery! Preston....Eric? Got some bits and, pieces for Curt here? I'm sure they might have enough "Cutoffs" that a say......*20 grain K* could be whipped up into a short liner. ;)

After Fridays maiden voyage at mach 1.5 plus on a CTI M-............, no problem with loosing a few more pinstripes and shredding off more paint on if I were able to get in another "M" flight on an EX-M Sparky

We have AMW 6000 or 7600 Complete Hardware to put one in

I would like to announce that John Olevich is the offical winner of the contest as flown on Saturday! :D He achieved a peak altitude of 15,187' flying alongside: Jason Griffin, Steve Pauling, Tim Dixon, Jenny Gross, Jim Hendricksen, Dave Kittell, Gary Katawaba and, myself.
I would also like to thank QCRS for putting on an excellent and, well run event....and, for any stoppage of the show i appreciate the patience of the fliers in line for allowing us to do this.

Thank-you everyone.

John will receive the Trophy, Bagged Sock and, $25 gift later today!

Senior` Gus, sorry I missed participating in this, but frankly I was having too much fun at RSO, hell I did it all day! Except for the wayward 2 stage, I hope my initials ain't on that one!
