OK this is just the nose cone after I completed the wet sanding and polishing process. I laid down probably 7 coats of clear 4 of which were very light tack coats. I waited a few hours and wet sanded it with 2000. I'm sure I could have started with 1500 and then 2000;next time I will but didn't have any 1500. Many years ago I use to detail cars and I remember how I would wet sand and polish them out so reaching into my box of supplies I pulled out some fine polish and rubbed the finish out. I'm actually happy with the results, but I know the next rocket I paint is going to look so much better than this one. I still next to clear the airframe and repeat the same process I used on the nose cone. This is my Level 1 rocket so I want it to look good after that I don't care what happens.

2000 grit? You are a seriously twisted, sick puppy. having said that you have to promise not to barf on my shoes when you see mine at ROC. My idea of a paint job is rolling them in white glue and sprinkling coloured sand over them.....

Oh that's a great idea! I should try that.
