We host monthly fun shoots in the East Fork area above Azusa. Let me know if you are interested in attending. We start n00bs with .22s and by the end of the day they are usually blasting away with 12 gauge shotguns, AR-15s, the M1 Garand . . .

Took the wifey to the range last weekend, she is wanting a pistol for concealed carry. She tried my XDs .45 ACP and did not care for the recoil at all, so that meant we were going 9mm. We tried out a few brands and models (Glock, Springfield, Ruger, S&W) and she narrowed the field to the M&P Shield 9mm. Now to get her into a course and start saving for the firearm. During this first range session with her I learned several things:
1. The woman is DEADLY with a handgun. (Check the orange target)

2. She shoots almost as well or better than me. Here is my pink target:

3. I discovered that the 9mm is much easier to shoot than .45 ACP, it is fun to shoot, and much less expensive!
Looks like a good double stack 9mm is in my future. Also, anyone heard of the Lionheart LH9? It was a great little piece.
Here are my Babies from Saturday. First time shooting. I set them up at 20 yards.
Guess what they want for Christmas?!!!
I've got 8 days left of waiting on the same piece. Can't wait.
I'de never heard of Lionheart til' this Thread, so I went and did some research and found a good Review that might be of interest:

Looks like it's a fine Pistol, but if it were me I'de go with the Smith simply due to Parts Availability and Commonality.
For me it is always important that in a Total End Of The World As We Know It, (TEOTWAWKI) Scenario, I'm able to get Parts for my Primary Firearms.

The Shield or Lionheart?
Good choice. Viridian green laser is also a nice add-on.Shield... although the Lionheart looks compelling.
Put a "silencer" on your gat and go "pew-pew-pew".
I prefer the name suppressor or muffler as either term is a more accurate description of what the device actually does.
BTW, illegal to own in the Socialist California. Evidently there is a great fear of poaching or assassination here. In Europe suppressors are considered the polite way to shoot.
Most shooting ranges run into trouble because of noise complaints. Legal suppressors would ameliorate such nuisance issues. Just saying.
It's even better when you put a suppressor on a select-fire weapon. Would that be "putting a muffler on your mower"? There used to be a local gun range that rented full auto weapons. $25 for as long as you wanted to shoot it, but you had to buy the ammo at their shop. They had an M-16, a Thompson 1928, an Uzi, and an H&K MP5SD (the last two with suppressors). They would leave a 5-day grin on your face.

Here in Vermont we can have all the NFA stuff we want with the $200 Tax Stamp, but the State of Vt. won't let us have Suppressors.
We do already have a Poaching problem, but the kind of folks that are going to fill out the Papers and wait a few months, plus pay the $200 are not the kind of folks that want to go on a Poaching Rampage.
Legislation has supposedly been introduced recently to allow us to have Suppressors, but I have not heard any updates about its passing.
I will be asking about where it's at at the 2015 Gun Show in Barre in February.
I'de love to get a Can for my AR. As far as NFA Stuff goes, I'll likely never be able to afford a Machinegun, but Suppressors can be had for well under a thousand bucks, so that would be fun to have.
Both cheap fixes 10/.22 with a handcrank and machine a gun barrel to oil filter adapter. CHeap And Dirty. I know, both make the hair on the back of your neck stand up....
I can just "Bump Fire" my AR if I want the Noise and waste of Ammo, and those hand crank things are lame.
I can/could even bumpfire my Glock 19.
On the other thing, the Oil Filter, that would be illegal. Saying something like that to someone like me is like me saying to you that I was going to put Explosives and Active Guidance into a Model Rocket.
"...both make the hair on the back of your neck stand up"....ummm....yeah...I knew that...
Don't give them any ideas. Before you know it, suppressors will be legally required. Most shooting ranges run into trouble because of noise complaints. Legal suppressors would ameliorate such nuisance issues. Just saying.
Ruger 10/22. The rifle that makes everyone say "Hey, I've got one of those."
BTW, I've got one of those!
Then get one!I don't have one of those.
