I have a friend who was asking some questions about re-loadable motor casings. He asked if there was some sort of paper or document that explains how re-loadables work. I can't find anything. Anyone have access to something like that or a link to a post explaining it all that I can just copy to a Word document and then send to him?

Thanks!

That's all assuming Aerotech.

For CTI, casings come in the standard diameters (24mm, 29mm, 38, 54, 75, 98 etc.). Then the lengths go from 1 propellant grain to 6 grains, with another that is a 6-grain XL (for extra long).

With CTI, you simply slide in the reload up to the length of the case, down to -2 grains if you have spacers.

See table:

No spacersw/One spacerw/Two spacers
1 Grain1 GrainN/AN/A
2 Grain2 Grain1 GrainN/A
3 Grain3 Grain2 Grain1 Grain
4 Grain4 Grain3 Grain2 Grain
5 Grain5 Grain4 Grain3 Grain
6 Grain6 Grain5 Grain4 Grain

So, for any diameter, if you have a 3-grain casing, a 6-grain casing, and two spacers, you can fly any motor at that diameter (the XLs are different).

With CTI, there is no motor assembly--just slide in the reload, tighten the retainer ring, and you're done. Check out the reloads at Pro38.com.
