Only 3 days away!

The boys and I can't wait!

Unfortunately, I'm working most of the days, besides the 27th and 1st, but we'll be there on those two days!

In curious who might be here already, who's on their way, what everyone's tentative schedule is etc...

Hope mother nature puts a smile on our faces!
She's been kinda wet lately lol

Happy flying guys! Catch y'all on Sunday!

I think a few of the crazy folks are coming down from Denver. Flying Sumo wrestlers, soccer fields, warbirds and tapeworms. One Level 3 for sure and our "fly the biggest motor the rocket can take" guy. Maybe a Space 1999 Eagle and some cool scale stuff. Maybe some stuff that falls apart or rear ejects. Maybe some decorated Big Berthas.

I really wanna see a tapeworm... They look fascinating!

Arrive in Denver tonight.

John
Tried to PM you re: your 18mm cases, but your full!
Catch you at the field!

If y'all see a fat dude w/ a beard, a Titans hat and 3 little kids, come say hi!

I'm leaving at 0Dark00 Friday morning, should be in Pueblo by Saturday afternoon. Furiously building for the last several days. I don't have any official info, but this could be a huge NARAM - the main hotel has been sold out for 3 weeks, and it sounds like there's gonna be plenty of HPR activity in addition to the LPR competition.

Safe travels guys!
Pueblo County awaits!

My youngest spilled the beans about my oldests birthday present the Goosebumps Leviathan.

Depending on daily fees we will put it up on Sunday!

The boys and I leave early tomorrow AM with a stop to see Brad Cline for all your NARTS shopping desires, then on to visit the Kansas Cosmosphere Friday morning and arrive in Pueblo Friday evening. Didn't book the hotel in time for a Friday arrival (reservation starts Saturday) so not sure where we'll land Friday night yet. We'll play it by ear and see what happens.

Yikes!
Hotel rooms are scarce, as Pueblo is also hosting the national little britches rodeo finals that end the 27th!

I just reached the end of the first leg (Auburn, WA to Ontario, Oregon). Thursday night's destination is Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friday, the event hotel.

Good to know. We may well stop and hour or two short of Pueblo Friday and make the final run in Saturday morning. Thanks.

Just happened to think of this at the last minute. There are three aviation museums to visit during your stay at NARAM 56, one each in Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Denver.

Denver: Wings Over the Rockies Aviation Museum (pay):

https://wingsmuseum.org/

Pueblo: Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum (pay)

https://www.pwam.org/

Colorado Springs: Peterson Air Force Base Air & Space Museum (free)

https://petemuseum.org/

Call 719-556-4915 at least 24 hours prior to visiting the Peterson AFB museum (open Tue-Sat 9AM-4PM) to arrange for them to set you up with a visitor's vehicle pass (it's an active AFB with major aerospace commands on it). No scheduled tours, they just do them on demand and the guides are retired USAF who are extremely knowledgeable. They have various aircraft including the very first AWACS aircraft, a Lockheed Constellation, the only one still in existence, that you can go inside. It's fully restored including all internal electronics by the radar operator and two former Constellation pilots who are now volunteer guides at the museum. They have a Minuteman III launch facility trainer, a Minuteman III, Nike Ajax, and Nike Hercules, and various other air and space defense stuff.

The museum location on Peterson AFB:

The base gate with the visitor center where you'd pig up your vehicle pass:

The impressive buildings (Air Force Space Command HQ, US Space Command HQ, and Army Space Command HQ) by one of the gates you are allowed to go out (you can't pick up your vehicle pass there because there's no visitor center):

As you head south on I25 from Colorado Springs on your way to Pueblo, you'll see this to your right (west), just one of the many likely nuclear war ground zeros in Colorado Springs:

Two other extremely important aerospace related military bases in CO, but you ain't gettin' on either of them, I don't think, nor would you have any legitimate need to do so. At best, rubber necking from the road only and don't stop:

I'm in Pueblo now, staying at the SpringHill Suites across the street from the Courtyard. Just finished prepping my HPR upscale for turn-in, gonna walk over and see who's around.

Stopped by the convention center after work to see what was up...

Whole Lotta nothing lol

Just saw your message. Spent the day at the range today and will be back at the launch site tomorrow. Heading downstairs to the classic model event and vendor's forum

John

One other thing of note that was not listed in the above summary is that aerotech is changing the motor retention on their kits from clips to aluminum motor retainers. These will be available for separate order for 29 mm and 24 mm motor mounts.

Went to the range for about an hour before the boys got disappointed we weren't flying on Sunday...

Trying to decide if buying a few motors is in the budget for Thursday, but it's looking like not :(

NARAM-56 ranges closed Wednesday morning due to weather (Rain). :(

The ranges may open up at 3:00 PM if weather improves.
