Matt, if your plans change and yer folks trust you(me), I have a seat in the van with your name on it!!

Rumors at LDRS last year were that a Colorado group would bid for LDRS in 2015. Does anyone know if Colorado bid for LDRS 2015? I went to New York for LDRS in 2004, but traffic is so bad and the tolls cost so much I probably won't go again.

I really wish Kloudbusters would do LRDS again. It would be hard to do LDRS locally due to lark of parking and space. I doubt we could get enough volunteers to do it anyhow.

I will talk to the folks if the plans change. Current plans are also hitting some places in Maine while we are up there, but if everything fails... I will keep you in mind!

Thanks!

Guys we have a GREAT deal on a really nice hotel! Plenty of rooms locked down. The website will be up in a few days with lots of details. BUT we really need to allow ldrs 33 to stop buzzing before we jump in. The dinner is gonna be great I like food......

Smugglers better start an addition now....

Perhaps we can have LDRS 35 in Maine ! Or in Vermont or Michigan - wouldn't want any states in the north, eastern border to be left out !

And.... Idea has been struck down. I am in Philmont Scout camp in NM from the 15-30. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Are you going to NAYLE or are you just going to camp. I can't wait until it's my turn to go to NAYLE.

Colorado did not submit a bid for LDRS 34.

LDRS at Argonia again ...

Now wouldn't that be something ...

Someone needs to talk to the KLOUDBusters people about that. ;)

Oh, one other thing ... think about this for a minute ... what is the real difference between LDRS at Argonia and AIRFest? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

Now back to your regularly scheduled LDRS 34 talk ...

Potter YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

I hope the KloudBusters host LDRS again in the not too distant future as LDRS30 was epic. You guys and gals could easily (and should) write the book on how to run an event like LDRS.

Two additional flying days?

Al,

I'm not to sure that's true any more. More and more often, recent LDRS's are four days (five tops). One of the things that keeps us from bidding on an LDRS is that six days are absolutely a killer on the launch organizers. With the current Tripoli research rules, we don't need as many days as before to meet all the needs of the flyers. It was awesome at LDRS 33 to watch low power rockets flown right along with both commercial and research motors. I'm pretty pleased to see that the current research rule allows virtually everyone to come out, fly, and enjoy their fellow flyers doing the same thing regardless if they fly low power or commercial motors or research motors.

A lot of people will come to LDRS simply because it is LDRS. Tripoli promotes LDRS as their national launch. More vendors and more flyers makes LDRS a great event to go to. No doubt AIRFest is a great event and I've read that it sometimes surpasses LDRS for number of flyers.

I've never been to AIRFest because it is only a few weeks before BALLS. A group of us go to BALLS every year and it is hard to do two big trips in the same month. That said, I have been to every LDRS at Argonia since 2003. It was a little rough doing 2008 and 2011 as we only had like two weeks before heading out to BALLS.

I just presumed Airfest was three days, and figured on five would be a typical LDRS. To drive 32 hours (either contiguously or in segments) for three days is not a value proposition for me. I have my bride conned into going to Argonia for LDRS. I just hope it is not in 2016, as I don't think I can sell my 35th wedding anniversary trip as five days of fun in Kansas. Not to mention at least five days of driving.

I could not imagine running a 6 day launch... The hangover of 3 day URRF was tough. Bob you are spot on about the current rules, seeing big stuff fly along with mod rocks is great.

Do you have to be Tripoli to go to LDRS? Or can anyone go?

My wife and I are celebrating our 25th in Pueblo at NARAM-56. I made a special rocket for just the occasion.
