While waiting on fin glue to dry on another project, I thought I would check out the contents of the Estes Prowler rocket box. I received it along with two other rockets that were given to my sister's youngest son, who didn't have much interest in them. I built the smaller "Flash" rocket to give back along with a home made launch system so if he want to launch it he can. The other kit is an Exo-Skell. Which will be an interesting build.
The Prowler is a basic Estes kit. Skill level 1. Three 12" sections of BT-60. One section has fin slots. A standard Patriot style nose cone. Die cut fins. And glow in the dark peel and stick decals. 18mm engine mount. A low and slow bird. Box says 360 ft.
Tubes dry assembled with nose cone, rocket will stand about 40 3/4 inches tall.
Already thinking upgrading to use "D" engines.
Anyone build one of these? Show 'em off! Mods? Bashes?
Got to get the rings to build it with a 24mm engine mount. Maybe turn one coupler into a baffle.
This rocket has the look and size to be a great performer. Would also make a great upscale project.
See ya,
