Need a little help modifiy my AV Bay into a GoPro Bay

So my friend wants me to launch his GoPro 3+ in my Super Dx3 in 9 days but I have never done a video port. I was thinking of converting my AV bay into a video bay and using a small motor so I wouldn't need DD. My idea was to make a wood platform that works on the threaded rods and bolt the camera so it's shooting through my key hole. Any help and or photos of setups are much appreciated.

You'll want to position the camera so that the lens is flush with the outer tube. With the wide angle lens of the GoPro, you'll block off some of the view if you don't.

A sled on your rods with the camera zip-tied to it should work.

Thanks for the info! I was planning something similar, but I wanted to get other people's thoughts because I really don't want to ruin my friends camera with a bad setup.
