38mm Aeropack question

I am in progress on a Wildman Junior, and I intend on installing an Aeropack on it. Thing is it is on order, and I want to start the motor mount. So, how much motor mount tube do I need to leave for the retainer body?

approximately 3/8", this might be generous but, a little extra is better than to little.

Sorry - don't have one handy to measure... I believe Rex is right on the money - for the 38mm retainer 3/8 of an inch.

If it's on order how can you start building it????

I think he meant the retainer was on order

Yes, you are confused. I have the kit, and forgot to order the retainer with it. Started the kit, realized the missing part, ordered said part, and want to continue working on it while the part is on its way.

I have a Aeropack 38L adapter and I measured the depth at 0.369". So 3/8" would not be generous at all.
