Hi,

I am starting to build a Vertical Assault 3.0. Figured I would share, built for Level 2 Cert.

Yeah, seems like a solid kit. I have only done LOC kits before and it is nice that they include everything. This thing is freaking huge, my wife thinks I am nuts.

How do you rotate photos here? They are all sideways and I dont know why?

Very nice switch. Have you used that type before? Where did you source it?

As to rotation, I'm not sure what you use for pictures, but I use an iPhone and when it goes to the computer the orientation information seems to get lost. I rotate them on the pc and then upload:

When my girlfriend saw it her reaction was "wow, that's tall". I'm sure she was hoping I didn't put any more holes in the ceiling with it

Its funny that when it previews it shows in the proper orientation. I guess I just need to take all pictures in landscape everytime. My wife named it so that decreases her judgement a tad.

The switch is a Omron 15A SPDT micro plunger, I got it from ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/181439245640?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 The copper I got from Hobby Lobby.

I have never used one before, I got the idea from the Stratalogger manual.

So this has gone up twice on Cert 2 attempts, just like Walter White nothing ever is quite right.

First Launch was a CATO, Launched the casing through the booster, Wildman/ CTI were awesome with the CATO claim.

Attempt 2, it went up this time to 4k feet, however the thick nylon shock cord broke at the fireball caused separation and zippering of the booster. Both charges went off fine, at least I know the RCC3 works. Big ups to Kent at giant leap for his service after this happened.

3rd times the charm, I hope, learn a little more from the tenured guys at SARA every time I fail.

A suggestion, and a note about picture orientation.

Suggestion - get some forged or welded eyebolts and throw away the notched ones. On one of my VA launches, I used a little too much BP and the eyebolts pulled apart.

Pictures - modern cameras implant a code in the picture that auto-orients it when viewed. But TRF's PHP doesn't utilize that feature, and the pictures all present as horizontal. Save the pics to your hard drive, open them in an editor, rotate them 90 degrees, and then -90 degrees. Resave and reupload.

Good luck with the Level 2.

Thanks for the orientation tip, I had no clue how to fix that.

Makes sense on the eye-bolts, will do.

I just got the Vertical Assault rocket always like this kit, but when I ordered it they were in the middle of switching over to FW FG body tubes, I was all for the Magnaframe but the FG tubes are more durable and it cost more, but the MMT is Magnaframe. What motor did you use for your cert attempt? Love the theme by the way, I'm watching Breaking Bad and am on the last season.

It was the j 38 6 grain blue engine from cesaroni. I forget what it was specificly
