Thank you so much Dave,,
For all of the orders and the nice comments...

Hey,, that's a new one,,,
I don't recall ever seeing a switch on a bulkhead before...
I like that idea,, it's a very large airframe to so the chute won't take long to pack at all...

Teddy

Teddy, the chute will be burritoed with a cable tie wrap for the cable cutter. Motor eject at apogee, main fired by altimeter in NC at 500'
Should be a pretty cool flight.

That's a really cool set up Dave..
I wanna see the flight though....

Hey,,
When are you coming up to Great Meadows for a launch ???

Teddy

That is neat, harness aint to bad ether.

TA

Hi Todd,,
I thought that was a great idea putting the switch on the bulkhead...

That harness came out really cool too,,, right... lol...

Thank you again for that whole traveling rocket thing......
My home club had a blast flying and signing it.....

Teddy

Thank you so much Michael,,,
You're too kind... lol...
On a seious note...
I forgot AGAIN to take some pic's of that welded
stainless steel eye sewn onto the 11/32" Tubular Kevlar,,,,
It's the absolute perfect set up for a 54 mm motor mount in a 3" airframe....
It's the only way I know of to put an eye where there isn't room for one....
And it just works perfectly...........
I have to make up a few more of those just to take some pic's and get them up on my site......

Thank you again Michael,,,,
Anytime you need,,,,
Just shout......

I am just about to use two of them in two separate 3" 54mm builds, GT PK3 and the Wildman 3" DarkStar so I will send you pics as I assemble them. The GT PK3 is on the bench now, I am just waiting for a 3rd CR. Because I opted to use the eye-bolt drilled into the top CR instead of epoxying directly to MMT, I decided to double up on the top CR just for a bit more strength.

I don't believe you have to double up on the top centering ring Michael,,,
But in all fairness I have been accused of using a bit to much epoxy.... lol...

I took some ribbing for trying this a few years ago. People were concerned with the overall safety of the design. It requires you to lift the nosecone to arm the switch then slide it back into the body tube. The concern was moving an armed altimeter. I never had any trouble with it but changed my design so that I didn't have to dance with monkeys at the RSO table.

I think that was a long time ago that I posted that...
It's not that it wouldn't take long to pack the chute,,,
a big airframe makes it easier to fit it in.....
I thought that switch was on the av bay bulkhead,,,
I don't remember now...

Teddy

Wow Michael,,
Super clean,,
Super neat,,
Fantastic work..
I would expect nothing less from you..
I hope you don't mind me saying so,,
you are truly anal retentive after my own heart...
That is exactly the way I build mine...
I begin construction with the top centering ring,,
mount a stainless welded eye in the center,,
epoxy the CR about 3/8" or 1/2" below the top of the MM tube and go on from there...
I tape a syringe to the end of a dowel and push the plunger with another dowel
to do the epoxy pour down the airframe tube on the top of the top most CR...

Beautiful, neat, clean work Michael....

To each his own..
I like to build for longevity of the rocket...
I don't mind if I don't get the last bit of altitude out of each Ns....

That rocket is gonna be as solid as a rock when your done with it....

Teddy

I just looked for a "kudos to Stickershock" thread,, or something of the sort,,
and all I find is he's going on vacation or going to a launch...

So I may as well give this thread a bump with this post,, what the heck....
I just sent Mark from Stickershock an email and I'd like to post it publicaly....
I'm sure he won't mind...

Teddy

Mark,,,
I just made a new box for motor hardware..
It came out smokin,, I wish you could see it..
It’s huge,, but no choice,, there’s a lot of hardware in it..
I stickered it all up..
It looks super cool..
I haven’t put a sticker on anything in years..
Each and every one of the stickers I put on the box was just that,,,, a sticker...
Except any that were made by you..
The Green Hornet’s left over Hornets.. My Onebadhawk ones that I send with my orders....
The ones made by you were 10 times the quality of anyone else’s..
Yours are not stickers or decals and in my humble opinion
you should not be referring to them as stickers or decals...
Yours are vinyl truck lettering,,,
and they are absolutely not comparable in quality to any sticker or decal.............
Yours are by far--- The Best............

Thank you again Mark,,

Teddy

Got 4 more harnesses from Teddy the other day, look as nice and shipped as fast as my last 2 orders. After spending too much time at the last launch switching from one rocket to another I decided to take the advice here and equip every rocket. I still have a ways to go but I'll get there, thanks Teddy!

Thank you George,,
Always my pleasure for sure...
Enjoy the harnesses,,
And put the stickers on your range box...lol
