Estes motor specs

My first post!
I am trying to calculate how high a complex stage rocket might go and I don't want to use inflated thrust or burn time data.

Have you found the Estes published motor specs to be reliable?

Best info you can get is on www.nar.org site go to standards and testing certified motor list. click on the motors your interested in. You'll get the page or two with actual thrust curve & burn/coast/eject times produced in the certifying process.

To calculate burn time, I use the total impulse given on NAR site and divide by thrust printed on motor?

The NAR site has PDFs of the actual thrust-time curves and oodles of useful data.

Go to the list on the NAR website and click on the motor designation. That will bring up a data sheet for the motor that has the burn time and everything else listed. For example, this is the sheet for a B6.
