The Radical Rocketeers are quite fortunate with their launch site........
Our great launch opportunities would not be possible without
the graciousness of our launch site host and landowner,,,,,,
Godlewsky Farms,,,,, in Great Meadows New Jersey........

On Saturday March 22 our group will show our appreciation
by participating in a day of service to the farm..........
After a cold hard winter there is more simple easy tasks to do on the farm,,, then there are hands to do them.........

We had a day of service 2 weeks ago and everyone just had a blast..........
What a great,, fun day was had for all and we really got something done for the Godlewsky's............
This is your opportunity to help out,,,,,,,, you'll feel great,,, you'll laugh,,, you'll make new rocketry friends.......
(And you'll love our launch site,,,, it's big,,, and it's beautiful,,, you'll see why we have a 5000 ft waiver every launch,,, lol)

10 minutes or so off of Route 80 in beautiful Great Meadows New Jersey............
Saturday March 22.......
If you'd like to come and give something back directly to a landowner that enables our launches
You can send an email to [email protected] or feel free to contact me directly through a PM here on TRF...........

Lets show em what the rocketry community is made of..............
Thank you so much for all your good help,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I guess the SMILE on Joe G's face says it all!!
what a great way to show how much it means to us for the use of his fields.
hopefully now he see us as THE ROCKET GUYS,
and not those rocket guys :eyeroll:

Come on out and lend a hand you'll be surprised how much fun you'll have

I was out there for a couple hours, until I had to leave, and it was great, it felt really good to help out our incredibly gracious hosts! Drop by, you'll be surprised!:D

Nate

I look forward to helping out our hosts on March 22nd.

Without them we would not have access to one of the best flying fields in the Northeast.

Wow,,,,,,,
That's great,,,,,,,,
It's so nice to hear all of the positive comments..........
I can't wait to see you guys there on the 22nd of March..............

Teddy

Ted this is Brilliant!! Keeping the landowner on your side is paramount GREAT Job

Thank you so much Bill,,,,,,,
This farmer is having a rough time of it financially since last year........
He had to let go most of his labor force over the winter..........
Getting prepped for spring is his busiest time of the year............
He really does appreciate our helping him..........
Bill, last year we launched 18 times at this farm,,,,,
( that includes "emergency launches" lol... )............
How much more does he have to do for us before
we should give him something back.........
It is my great hope that through this thread
we can get as many sets of hands there to help him
as we see make use of his fields during the launch season..........

Teddy

SOunds like a great thing you got going there... wish I was on the other side of the country to help out!

All our best!!

I, having little time and even fewer flyable rockets, haven't been to a RadRock launch in a while but I'll see if I can come to this at least.

Thank you Mark,,,,,,,,,
Come on man,,,, it's only about 3000 miles.........lol
Take a weekend drive.........lol
Thank you for the support Mark............

Carlo,,,,,,,,
If you could make it that would be fantastic,,,,,,,,,
That really is nice of you,,,,,,,
I'm sorry you get to fly so infrequently,,,,
I know how busy you've been with school and all.........
If I can do anything to help,,,,,,, just say the word..............

What time is the event-thingy happening?

(my flying issues are more due to procrastination than any hard constraints...for some reason I don't feel like spending 50 bucks on a motor adapter and some Aeropoxy, but I can just plunk down cash for an I motor without a problem)

Ted,

What an amazing idea dude, nicely done. Fair play to all at your club to go and help. I'm way way across the pond but when I do come over with my new build I'm sure we will fly there. How many people are you expecting on the 22nd Ted?

Carlo,,,,,
Always,,, for sure,,,,
If you need an Aerotech case for a load you'd like to fly
or an aeropack adapter come see me,,,, anytime Carlo you know that,,,,,,
I'll bet I even have some hobby shop epoxy your welcome to but
I know you won't use it,,,lol,,, your Aeropoxy or nothin,,,lol.... right,,,,,,
I'll tell ya,,,, I was the same,,, Aeropoxy,,,, nothing else,,,,
Tim Lehr finally got me to try the rocket poxy,,,,, I really like it,,,,
it is a bit different then Aeropoxy but not very much,,, I like it...
I was so big on Aeropoxy because of it's strength,,, I still believe and understand in Coker's findings,,,,,
but as far as strength,,, your application methods and practices matters 100 X more then which epoxy.......
You can put any epoxy you want over mold release on an unprepped piece of glass it's not going to adhere.......

Carlo figure around 10 AM at the farm,,,,,,by the green houses,,,,, by the porta john........

And thank you again,,,,,,,,,

Teddy

Pete,,,,,,,
That's too funny,,,,,,,,
Another guy said he wanted to come from 3000 miles away but that was over land,,,,,,,,lol
Your 3000 or better miles away over water,,,, lol,,, a small pond right,,,,lol,,,, The North Atlantic,,,,lol
I'm going to hold you to this Pete,,,,, some day you have to make it over here and fly with us.........
And Luke too,,, tell him that,,, you can come at the same time,,, I'll even drink a beer warm with you guys..... ( just not at the field,,, lol ).......

Teddy

Oops,,,
As far as a people count Pete,,, Not sure yet but our hopes are high,,,,,
The last day of service we did we had some Boy Scouts,,, so the people count was great.........

I knew when I got back into rocketry a few years ago and began flying with clubs, I had found a great community of people. Rocketeers are always eager to help others. I couldn't be prouder of those who have come out this month to help at the farm.

Our landowner has been facing some challenging times due to the twists of fate of the weather and the economy. Your individual efforts, though they may seem small on the scale of the mountain of tasks the farm faces, have great impacts in seeding this upcoming season with the best chances of success. Thank you for all the sweat and energy you poured into what you did!

I'll never cease to be inspired by the true grit and hard work the family pours into the farm. I also have new respect for the community that has come out to help them.

As the days warm, and the snows melt away, our launch schedule at the farm will be heating up. If you've never flown with us before, I hope you'll consider dropping by this year. We look forward to meeting you. :)

On behalf of the farm and our club, Thank You!

Jim Zindle
President

Felt bad I didn't make it. I did make the first one. Been fighting some illness but feeling better. All I can say is the next time I fly I will get up and move around. I've read those DVT articles like 50 times in the airline magazine, never thought it would happen.
