Nowadays people are launching Keychain cams, and that's not the same thing as the original Cineroc. Wouldn't it be nice if there was one place where all the videos posted on YouTube of Cineroc FILMS could be found?

I thought so too...

(There's another thread for other rocketry videos, so we can make it easier to watch the old films).

So, got your popcorn, candy and drinks?

If you know of Cineroc films that have been converted to videos and uploaded, please post them here. If they're from some other kind of camera (including digital clones), post them here.

If you have old Cineroc films, PLEASE convert them to digital media (film and video have a shelf life). This way they can be preserved, and we all can enjoy them! :)

TIP!!!: don't forget you can use the "Insert Video" button to actually make them viewable in the post.

Thanks!
Jim

I finally divided up some of my Cineroc films, So I will be posting them here in the next few days. By the way, Youtube takes FOREVER to upload videos to!
First one is of an old G33 Black Jack motor at JSC. About 1600 feet altitude.
Enjoy.

A USR G45 Firestarter Motor. Around 1200 feet altitude.

Estes Omega with bad nozzle clay in the booster D12-0. Estes replaced the motors but didn't replace the Omega rocket or Cineroc... Go figure! Flown at JSC.
Real Saturn V in the background.

Lucerne Dry Lake. My Level 1 Certification Flight. H73 Black Jack motor. 2800 feet altitude altimeter reading.

Dan, fantastic videos of the Cineroc. Thank's for sharing them.

Those were some awesome films!

Thanks for Sharing!

Keep those cameras safely rolling!
Jim

This film came out great because of the contrasts of the ground below. The ignition of the motor is pretty neat also.

These next 2 flights each had a Cineroc on board and were launched at the same time.

This rocket had a USR F30 Firestarter motor that malfunctioned on the way up which took out the bottom of the rocket. Parachute didn't deploy so the rocket crashed. The white part of the film on the left is because the film cartridge broke open on impact so that side of the film become exposed to the light. I'm surprised that any of this film came out at all. If you look carefully, you can see the other rocket (2nd clip) take off in this film.

This is the other flight of the duo. This flight was an Estes Ranger with 3 X C6-7 motors that took off after the above rocket was up in the air. You can see the smoke trail from the above flight in this footage.

These next 2 flights are a pairing also. Two rockets, each with a movie camera on board.

The first film is a Cineroc flight on a single stage Omega with a F12-5J AT RMS motor. The rocket from the second film below is seen launching in this clip.

I'm cheating on the second clip because it's not an actual Cineroc flight but it is a Super 8 Camera on a rocket. The rocket is a LOC Viper IV with 2 X D12-7 and 2 X E15-P Estes motors. The two Estes E15s CATO. The onboard Super 8 camera is a modified Bentley Super 8 camera with a shutter speed of 1/500 second (like the Cineroc) and a filming rate of around 100 frames per second. This action in the clip is filmed 6-7 times slower than real life.

This one is the Classic Cineroc Omega combo (well, almost). D12-0 in the booster and an E9-8 in the upper stage. The blueness is because the film I used was a tungsten balanced film and the sunlight is much bluer than tungsten colored light. Launched at Lucerne Dry Lakebed.

Roy Houchin

I remember Capt Houchin showing me some of his other Cineroc videos back when I was student in his Military History class as a fresh faced dink at the Zoo.

Damn, I feel old.

Was on facebook and saw that someone had uploaded some of Herb Desind's Cineroc films... The music can be a bit over the top, but there is always the option to mute it.

Including the flight with Mr. Bill... Oh No!

Thanks to Modroc_73 for posting those.

To whom it may concern, How do you hardcode subtitles and make a YouTube video. I have my most famous Cineroc Flights compiled into an AVI video but needs the subtitle track to watch... Please help!

Somebody could compile a Cineroc playlist at YouTube for your one place of all of them.

It's a shame that a lot of those old videos have gone away by the time I discovered this thread today.
