Why can't Open Rocket save appearance info?

I haven't found a way to preserve the appearance settings I give to my simulations. I get them looking real pretty, take a snapshot and upload them. However, I can't save the settings, close the program, reopen it and have them preserved. I have to recreate them each time I want to do another snapshot. If I don't recreate the settings, I get something that is flat black in appearance (fine for an all black rocket, not so for a complicated color scheme).

I also just noticed that the engines that I "loaded" in the simulation are now gone too.

save as open rocket file (*.ork) instead of .rkt and you'll save all that fun stuff .
