Overstable By Design
I'm sure I'm not the only person to consider this kind of build and I'd be really interested in knowing if this idea works. Anybody ever put siren whistles on a rocket before?
My concept is about making a cone type of model where the stability comes from the cone like fins provide. Inside the cone would be 3 - BT 50 size tube compartments that are cut at the top in the same angle of the shroud/cone, and a hole in the cone for each chamber. Each chamber would contain a whistle, which would of course be permanently mounted. This would be a LPR model to say the least. You'd prolly not hear the whistles on a HPR. Here's a basic 2D diagram. Thoughts?
