This rocket was on hold for over 25 hours.... The plan, and "wife" approved flight window was to show up 98% prepped and fly.
I showed up and both of my TAP members gave the "Status Go". Prepped, and then.... Fire... No sooner was I on my way to the RSO, there was a fire.
If you saw how hard everyone was working.... the "day is over" was clearly evident, and necessary. The range hands were tired, and dehydrated...
So a call to my wife saying I would have to stay over or fold, she does what the best wife in the world does... Let me find you a hotel!!!! She got me in at the Best Western to overnight. So I left the site, and went too walmart and got an awesome "avengers shirt" and some pants so i could rejoin the population. Best Western gets an A+ on the free breakfast.
The next day, looked like a wash.... low cloud ceiling most day, and most of us except for a few kept it under the clouds. For me, 17,000 was not going to happen. UNTIL.... the last hour...as you can see in this picture the cloud ceiling is opening up as the front slowly pushed through from the north. so, 25 hours later,, here is my rocket on the pad.
Troj, was the lucky charm, he "had" to RSO the rocket. The reason for the good luck comment is he RSO'd my Level 2 certification that was the 3rd attempt and was successful. This was my 2nd L3 attempt, and it was successful... So I guess that explains how some people rub off all their good luck
