If you're planning to fly above the limits of the lowerG model, get the higherG model. You'll lose some detail on softer flights, but you won't peg the curve on buttkickers.

The 250G, single-axis unit is not currently being produced. The 2-axis, lower G model caps the accel measurements at about 80 Gs. It won't be damaged to fly higher than that, but the accel-based calculations like velocity will be off by the amount that the acceration signal above 80 Gs gets cut off.
