I used my first MMX motors this weekend. Some where the old plastic ones and others the newer spiral case with clay nozzle. The new design has a lot better power than the old I found out.

Quite True: the Old MMX-I motors are .163Ns with an average .913 to 1.07 sec delay, Would have a NAR designation of 1/8A.2-1
Newer MMX-II motors have .284Ns with an average .854 sec delay - Nar Designation 1/8A.5-1.

That slightly longer Delay on the older motors is a great thing for models under 3grams.
