Certification by NAR or TRA is required to purchase and/or fly HPR motors.

He's 15 and has that hurdle to cross first At least he's going about the right way and not trying to blow smoke up our arses. He's even learn how to tell what a BS'er is...and we do get some that really like to pile it deep

I intend to do the NARTREK myself and I do already drool at the Estes Pro Series II kits every time I'm in Hobby Lobby. Anything beyond those is just dreaming at this point though.
Hey I'm 50 years old and just now getting back into model rockets. My eventual goal is to get to at least level 1 certification but I imagine that will be several years down the road when my hobby budget will actually allow it.
