3 Foot Mattel Space 1999 Eagle Spaceship.

I was 16 when this came out and I still wanted it for Christmas. My parents said to me "What do want with toys."
It was cool and I was still watching the series even though it sucked by then. Hey, It was Sci-Fi!
I didn't get one but the kid down the street did! I was soooo J-E-A!
It would be cool to find one cheap and launch it!
Anyone have one then?

I still have mine. The smaller cargo 'feet' are missing and one of the cargo windows is gone. Otherwise fully intact.

I loved that show when I was a kid and now I have the whole series on DVD (along with UFO, another cool show). I had a small metal Eagle, I guess it was around 8" long or so, you could turn a crank and lower/pick up cargo with a hook on a string. I had that thing for years.

That big one looks pretty cool, but nearly $350 (with shipping)... ouch.

My brother had the Mattel Eagle. I will have to ask him if he still has it.

The 'metal' Eagle were made in England by Dinky. There were two versions. A green one with the standard pod for carrying people and a white one with a red crane pod for picking up cargo.

I still have both of mine in the package.

I had the plastic model. I did a pretty good job of painting it, at least compared to the generally horrible paint jobs I did back then. One of my brother's friends was fascinated by it; I eventually gave it to him.

I have the AMT Eagle still. I'll dig it out this W/E since I won't be launching rockets. The weather sucks!

Never cared for the looks of it, always reminded me of the 2001 moon bus, did'nt like that either.

Loved the show. I had the Mattel Eagle, both versions of the Dinky Eagle, Transporter and Freighter. Also had the AMT Eagle plastic model, and the Centuri Eagle, built but never flown. All of them are long gone.

In my first year physics class in college (1986), this was Heat and Motion, the prof demonstrated "action-reaction" with the Mattel Eagle hooked onto a cable (like a tram or cable car) strung across the lecture hall. It was powered by a cluster of 4 A8-5s, one for each of the model's engines. Yes, this was indoors. The Eagle traveled about 20-25ft, smoking all the way. It was great to see! What better mix: physics, rocketry, Space:1999? I about peed my pants.

If anyone has one of the large ones, even if some of the smaller bits are missing, and you would like to see an Eagle soar (well, at least fly)..... I want it!! pm me and we will thing about prices.

PLEASE!!

Iwas also a big fan of the show, I built the Monogram plastic model at about age 11. There are several paper model versions also, I have one downloaded in my paper model files. There have been several build threads on the PaperModelers web site, a builder by the name Loenf has done the best I've seen yet..

Can't see the pictures at that first link unless you're a member and logged in.

But that's interesting. I've never even heard of paper modeling.

I have one in good shape with all the parts with no box. It sits on the shelf of honor. The glue they used will discolor with age and it is getting brittle, thus requiring careful handling. Every once and a while a club member will fly his old Centuri Space 1999 Eagle. It is really cool when it spins down on the chute and lands in the dust - just like the opening title sequence of the show.

Always loved all the Anderson vehicles, Eagles (and the Mark 9 Hawk!) especially. Here's my Product Enterprise Eagles, and a set of the smaller Futura "Anderson" vehicles (mostly from UFO).

I don't think Monogram ever put out a Space 1999 Eagle. Fundimensions did the most popular Eagle kit.

Well it was thirty-eight years ago, it my not have been Monogram, but it was a plastic model kit, I know over the years plastic model companies came and went.
